Bay of Authie

All year round, visitors enjoy discovering the Bay of Authie, a wild, magnificent location 40 km away from the Camping Le Bois de Pins campsite. This haven of peace and natural beauty with its spectacular landscapes is perfect for getting away from it all, offering you a change of scenery, the spectacle of the common and grey seals resting on the sandbanks and magical walks at sunset. The Bay of Authie is also a perfect spot for enjoying a swim and other-water activities.

What surprises walkers is the huge variety of scenery at the Bay of Authie. You move through wild landscapes with magnificent sand dunes to the salt marshes or ‘mollières’ as they are called locally, and from flower meadows to ivy-covered birch forests. With its extraordinary wildlife and plants in an array of different colours, not only do you come across walkers, of course, but shellfish gatherers and wildfowlers too.

As for leisure, the Bay of Authie is perfect for walking, horseriding, bike rides, canoe or kayak trips and water sports on the foreshore uncovered by the tide. But be careful! Remember that the Bay of Authie is dangerous. Don’t venture out there without first checking the tide times.
